Volunteer Governors
Herefordshire • Ages 11–16 • Approx. 400 pupils
Queen Elizabeth School Bromyard is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Local Governing Body. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a meaningful role in the life of a thriving secondary school at the heart of its community.
Who we’re looking for
We welcome expressions of interest from anyone aged 18 or over, from any background, profession, or level of education. What matters most is a genuine interest in supporting young people and a willingness to work collaboratively to help the school continue to flourish.
What governors do
As a governor, you will:
- Support and challenge the school’s leadership as a critical friend
- Advocate for pupils, parents, and the wider community
- Promote the wellbeing, safety, and success of young people
- Contribute to strategic decision‑making and long‑term planning
- Work in partnership with the Three Counties Multi-Academy Trust and Herefordshire Local Authority
Commitment to safeguarding
All governors must be committed to safe and professional working with and on behalf of young people. Volunteers will be required to undertake:
- A DBS check
- Safeguarding training
- Ongoing development to support their role
