Board Games Club
This is run for students during activities week. It gives them the opportunity to try out a variety of board games that they would not usually get to play. These range from co-operative games, which encourage good communication skills, teamwork and forward planning to competitive board games, in which they have to think strategically against their opponents. It is also a great way for them to use their imagination and creativity. There is also the opportunity to play some table top games with miniatures.
Extra-curricular activities run by the Geography Department include the completion of Y7 fieldwork in Bromyard, investigating the viability of opening a fast food restaurant in the town. Y11 also complete fieldwork during a residential trip and investigate a physical and a separate human geographical issue in Snowdonia, Wales. Through these activities students’ further their sense of enjoyment and fascination in learning about themselves, others and the world around them. They develop and use of a range of social skills in different contexts and must cooperate well with others and resolve conflicts effectively to successfully complete the geographical investigations.
Table tennis is also offered during the end-of-year Activities Week.
